This life is filled with stress, annoyances and just plain craziness! I have started expecting it! This lady removes all of that! Traveling to incredible locations with my crazy companion and arriving with no one there is exactly what our hustle bustle schedule needed!! We were prepared for crowds, stress, security- temperature checks and what we got was stress free, calm and even spiritual experiences walking around this ancient city!
I will keep planning for the stress but more often hoping for the calm like we experienced today!! I need more of today! #ephesus #turkey #adventure #travel

We found the lost city of TROY! It has been built

We found the lost city of TROY! It has been built over 8 times starting since the first settlement in 3,000BC! The 6th city of Troy was the one burnt to the ground and then occupied by the Greeks! They know this because the layer of ash on top of the city and then the new construction style, pottery style and gods found strewn all over the place due to an earthquake that covered Troy 7. The wall we are in front of is the top 1/4 of the great walls and gate of Troy.
Troy 8 was more of a Roman style and much more elaborate and all of this can be found in and around the grounds of a totally vacant touristic walk through the city! It was amazing!!! #troy #turkey #travel #adventure #hatlineonpoint! 😂

Well Turkey did it again! We found Cleopatras favo

Well Turkey did it again! We found Cleopatras favorite hot spring and we had all of its naturally carbonated hot waters to ourselves complete with our own ruins (of spoiled ancient temple) to walk over and swim on! We tasted the water out of the deepest part of its source and it leaves Perrier and San Pellegrino in the dust!

The problem was that @rachbennett dropped my sunglasses at some point in the deepest part of the pool and when I swam down to get them the water was so heavy it was actually hard to swim back up to the surface... I love freediving and it felt like 10x the gravity was holding me down!! Freaky but I loved the challenge!!

History can be fun! I’m always so focused on facts and timelines and consequences that came from historic events...... see I started to get nerdy again!

Well this was INSANE! 8 levels deep, 270 feet underground there is a 2k year old city that housed 10k people during times of war!
We wandered and got lost underground for hours checking out this amazing ant city for humans!!

We are having the time of our lives learning about the 1st-13th centuries while touring this amazing country!! Turkey has been my favorite Country for almost a decade and @rachbennett and I have been trying to get back here since our first visit in 2015!! #Ephesus is my favorite city in Turkey because of the people who lived here and how it’s been untouched since the mud covered it centuries ago! The Apostle Paul, John the revelator and even Mary the mother of Jesus lived in this city! I’ve been crawling through underground cities , cave houses and finally got to #ephesus and I am in heaven!! (I even got to crawl into an underground walkway not touched by humans in centuries🤫)

I am a history nerd! Even worse is that I’m a su

I am a history nerd! Even worse is that I’m a super geek for biblical history! I will do just about anything to be abe to visit locations important to the gospel of Jesus Christ! These caves were filled with Secos (painting painted simply with berry and leaf colors) and even super elaborate frescos (plaster then painted) on walls all throughout these caves! I wandered in and out of these checking the art style and time period to see how they depict Christ, The Father and the Holy Ghost.
I have been conducting my own Personal study as to when art changed from 3 separate being to a singular being and after visiting hundreds of museums throughout Europe, Asia and even exhibits that have come through the US there is a transition point. These caves only solidified my findings and I was such a little Indiana Jones wandering in and out of them today!!

Today we got a HOLE new perspective on early century AD housing! We (@khylshumway @michelle.shumway and @rachbennett )were taken to some epic locations all around Cappadocia where we were allowed to get super and up close and personal with the cave dwelling homes, kitchens and incredible chapels carved out of and into these rocks! As always I might have been a bit too interested in the details (history nerd), and bit bit too interested in climbing as high as I could and as deep as I could in some of these early rockin dwellings!! #travel #adventure #turkey #cappadocia and a big thank you to @tours.turkey www.toursTurkey.com for setting up such amazing excursions!!
